What are the differences between a Smartwatch and a Digital watch?

In this article, we take a look at smartwatch vs digital watch for your convenience. We have all used watches in our lives. The watches could have been analog, or digital. Now, when we say digital both the digital and the smartwatch fall into the same category but as you can see, there is a ‘smart’ with smartwatch. So, without wasting our time let us find out what are the core differences between them.

The Basic:

The first difference is that digital watches simply show you the date and time via a digital monitor. That is all they can do. However, smartwatches are different because they are like mini computers sitting on your wrist. Smart watches not only show the date and time, you can also do much more - just like your smartphone and computers.

Hardware & Features:

The second difference is that smartwatches are loaded with features. They have operating systems like Wear OS, etc., based on Android and there is a Google Play store as well. So you can download the app if you want. They can track your workout or fitness progress and health. They have heart rate, sleep, and SpO2 sensors. But normal digital watches do not have those.

As we have told you before, smartwatches are mini computers so they have super fast multi-core processors, muscular RAM, and big ROM to handle the pressure of the OS and the installed Apps. You can charge them like your smartphones or laptops. There are smartwatches which you can also charge wirelessly. You can connect smartwatches to your smartphones, wifi network, bluetooth devices, take video and photos, take or place calls or video calls, and so many more. Nowadays, you have Gorilla glass protection, water, dust, scratch resistance in your smartwatches. But normal digital watches do not give these facilities.

Anything you can do with your smartphones, you do part or all of them with your smartwatches as well. Hope you have understood all the differences.
